The Background Check Advisory was created by it's Director and Founder, Anton Watson in 2023 to fill a gap we could see across the screening industry: employers were increasingly being asked to manage complex screening risks, but independent, practical advice was difficult to find.
Too often, screening programmes were shaped by the checks a background check provider would sell to employers, rather than starting with the organisation, its workforce, its risks and what it genuinely needed.
The Background Check Advisory was established to bring together experience from both sides of the screening relationship, understanding what employers need and the challenges providers often face in delivering it.

Starting with a career in Recruitment, Human Resources and Learning and Development, the founder of the Background Check Advisory, Anton Watson had worked across the Asia Pacific region in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur before moving across to Europe where he worked as client services and then managing director for the oldest, and at the time largest background check provider in the United Kingdom, Control Risks Screening.
After successful tenure with Control Risks Screening, Anton moved across to one of the worlds largest banks, Bank of America to manage their background check and client due diligence program for over 10 years.
During his career in the background check and human resources industry Anton has gained unique knowledge, experience and insight into what makes a successful background check program.
